Hi there!
I’m Alex, well technically Alexandra but Al or Alex to most. Most days you can find me waking up early, putting my yoga pants on (do jeans even exist anymore?) hopping on Pinterest to search for the next healthy recipe to create for dinner and researching some of the latest ways we can work on our mindset to create more self-love within ourselves.
I’m mostly known for the girl who LOVES to entertain. Give me a reason to host a gathering and I’m in. Thanksgiving, sure thing. Friendsgiving all the way. Book club (a.k.a. wine club) absolutely. Sunday Brunch 100%. People often refer to me as Chef Al. I guess that would make sense with my love for entertaining.
My Mission
It wasn’t too long ago that I was trapped in the self-comparison game. I thought my self-worth was only defined by how I looked on the outside. I believed all society showed me, to be successful I had to be thin, funny and smart (but not too smart). I struggled through this belief system during my teenage years and through college. The late nights out lead to binge eating which lead to tears and self shaming. The unhealthy relationship I constructed with extreme workouts followed by little to no food was serving no one.
Enough was enough, I dove in & asked for some help and got to work. Through years of mentorship, finding accountability with like minded women and improving my mindset I finally made a shift. I found who I was and my worth. With the tools and structures I’ve used over the years it’s now my mission to help other women find their self-worth and confidence in themselves once again. No women should feel they aren’t good enough. It’s time to bring the light back into your life!
My Beliefs
In order to create a balanced life I realized there were four main areas in which I needed to really focus on to achieve my self-confidence again.
Mindset
With a positive mindset it's so much easier to believe in ourselves and work towards our goals in healthy ways.
Nutrition
Learning how to fuel our bodies in order to allow them to function properly is critical to feeling our best.
Fitness
Working out in order to build strength and longevity should be the main focus. Not to see how small we can become.
Fun
With all things, we deserve some fun! It's great to work hard and achieve our goals but we also need to accomplish how far we've come!
